  11. Folks,
  12.     I wondered if any of you are using C++ instead of some of the much
  13. hyped new technology products like VB, delphi, java etc because
  14. you want the code to be current and maintainable over 10 years or more.

  16. That is, I wondered if the long-term viability of C++ is the main reason
  17. why people want to use C++ (say Visual C++) instead of the quicker tools
  18. like Delphi. I am comparing C++ & Delphi because both have roughly the
  19. same capabilities for building the guts of a large system. Delphi is
  20. much easier for GUI though.

  26. really value C++ for its long term viability or not.   :-)
